Preschool Field Trip to the Fire Station

Jack's Preschool Class

Dane and Jack thought the Fire Fighters were so cool... Of course, little boys always admire a man in uniform

P.S. Day 3 still caffeine free!

Day 1

I am surprised how easy today was in my new caffeine free life. The headache has not kicked in yet... I did feel a little draggy in the afternoon, but a little cat nap took care of that. When I told Jack I was not going to drink Diet Coke anymore he said "But Mom WHAT will you drink? Are you going to drink water like me and Daddy?" Hmmm, water what a great idea. Thanks for the supportive comments and emails.

Good Bye My Friend

I have been saying for months I am going to quit my DC habit. I drink way too much and it is messing with my energy levels and overall well being. Also, it is really important to me to teach Jack and Dane (by example) healthy eating. My sister and mom have been hearing me say every Monday that I am done... but then 2:00 rolls around and I can't remember why I ever had such a ridiculous idea. I thought I could do the 1 can a day plan, ha! One can always turned into a whole lot more (I do not want to reveal how much I actually drink). If I was capable of practicing moderation I wouldn't need to quit cold turkey. Anyway, I did a little research on why diet coke is REALLY unhealthy and I can not ignore it. Muggs is always encouraging me to eat cleaner and to eat REAL foods. I finally watched the documentary Food Inc. and I had a real "ah ha" moment. So tonight I am saying good bye my good old pal, diet coke with a lime.

To the 4 of you who read this blog, the upcoming posts will probably be really boring... In an effort to stay on track I am going to do regular postings of my caffeine free progress. I can do this right? I mean come on, I have had babies and ran marathons... I can kick my caffeine dependency to the curb... (Just trying to pump myself up)

The Real Housewives of Sacramento

After I moved to California I was adopted into the best playgroup! My friend Natasha introduced me to such a fantastic group of women. I am really grateful for the friendships I have made since moving here. I am soooo looking forward to the spring when our playgroup can go back outside!

Eating Edamame

I love this little guy. He is a major mama's boy, and I usually love it. Today we hung out eating edamame and drinking diet coke... he loves having mom all to himself. He has developed quite the sense of humor. Jack has been making us laugh since he was 6 months old, I am not kidding. Jack is big and explosive, while Dane-O is more subtle. I think Dane understands sarcasm...

Art Beast... Love It!

While my mom was in town we went to this fun children's art space... it is this old house with different exploration rooms and art studio space for the kids to paint, mold clay, and create art with different objects... The kiddos loved it!
